Content Marketing Manager

Job Description

Zypsy is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to own and grow the impact of content. You will lead and direct all aspects of the content distribution process, help grow our online audience and build engagement while ensuring a consistent look and voice across all channels. The Content Marketing Manager will have a specific focus on writing and managing content creation for our marketing campaigns with the goal of supporting SEO and lead generation.

As a Content Marketing Manager, you have a passion for storytelling across multiple channels and you're able to turn longer-form content into digestible formats. You will be responsible for creating compelling content that achieves results, and able to generate brand awareness through various mediums/platforms. The day-to-day tasks will always be new and exciting; you will have the room to strategize complex data and ideas into digestible pieces and also engage with our target audience to build meaningful connections.

  • Responsible for all content under our current social platforms: Twitter, Instagram, Dribbble, LinkedIn, Behance, and our Zypsy Blog & upcoming Podcast.
  • Build an editorial content calendar by quarter that is guided and influenced by company goals
  • Ensure that we have an efficient content production process that can meet our content production goals, including recruiting and managing freelancers as needed
  • Uphold our brand, voice, and editorial standards and ensure that we are always creating content that raises the bar
  • Be hands-on in writing, editing, and proofing new content
  • Work with our design team to craft visuals that follow the monthly content strategy and marketing campaigns.
  • Optimize our content for SEO, website leads, and customer acquisition
  • Report monthly on content performance and other SEO-related metrics
What we’re looking for

Basic Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in content marketing, preferably in a high growth startup
  • Exceptional writing skills that allow you to be prolific, speedy, and consistent across channels and assets
  • Experience with audience engagement and nurturing audiences on different platforms
  • Experience in SEO keyword research and strategy; and familiarity with using platforms like Google Analytics & SEMRush
  • Experience with multimedia content creation (video, audio is a plus)
  • Comfort with the ambiguity inherent in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Comfort with working effectively in cross-functional and remote teams
  • Strong project and time management skills as well as good business acumen and interpersonal communications
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, in English

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience recruiting and managing other content writers
