Zypsy catch-up
We hosted our first ever founder dinner in San Francisco.
The room was mostly founders, with Ben Blumenrose from Designer Fund. Special thanks to James from Mercury, who sponsored the evening.
While in town, we attended YC demo day and are excited to share that we invested in Voxel Energy through Zypsy Capital, which just celebrated its first year.
As Zypsy enters its 8th year, our network has quietly grown into something special. And this dinner was the first of many gatherings to come. We're inspired by the people we get to work with and grateful to learn so much from all of you.

Thinking beyond efficiency
We've been deep in AI tooling lately, and there are real questions about what this means for how we work. We wanted to share how we're thinking about it.
Efficiency matters. You need it to stay in the game. But if efficiency is the ceiling, you're just doing the same work faster.
The biggest risk right now isn't moving too slow. It's losing the part of our process where the best work happens.
Design has 2 modes
Early on, you need space to explore, to sit with a problem, to try directions that might not work. This is where the best thinking comes from.
Later, you need constraints, feedback, and the ability to actually ship.
When AI handles the mechanical parts of the work, you get time back. Not to do more, but to think better. Less time pushing pixels. More time on judgment.
We protect the part that involves craft, exploration, and the judgment call that says "this isn't ready". We accelerate everything else - production, iteration, anything mechanical that eats time without adding insight.
If it requires judgment, protect it.
If it doesn't, find the fastest way to get it done.
Why this matters
Design is the first thing people feel about a company.
Before the pitch. Before the meeting. It either builds trust or it doesn't. Our founders invest in credibility. That's why they work with us.
The market will reward speed. But it will remember craft.
