MILESTONE

Raised a $34M Series A, bringing total funding to $42M, Dec 2025

Tutor Intelligence builds intelligent robot workers for manufacturing and logistics. To convey the value of Tutor’s incredible robots to audiences, Zypsy went about transforming an advanced but cold technology into a warm, approachable co-worker. Enter Sonny and Cassie.

The Challenge

Automation has always carried a catch. It promised efficiency, but only for predictable production lines. Real manufacturing is complex and messy, yet most robotics make sophisticated technology feel cold and hard to trust. And did we mention Tutor’s robots needed heads?

the opportunity

Tutor is not selling machinery, it is offering labor as an accessible service. That reframing opened the brand: intelligence you can hire and manage in familiar terms like hours, workers, productivity and cost, turning advanced robotics into intuitive operations.

Working with Tutor, our industrial design team created a head for the Tutor robot that was as approachable as it was functional.

THE APPROACH

We built a complete design system around the tension between human intuition and machine precision. This system ran through everything, from the logo to the sensor-packed heads of the robots, helping everything feel part of a cohesive whole.

Tutor came to us with a technically complex story spanning AI research, robotics, hardware, safety, deployment and pricing, in a category that defaults to cold, futuristic design.

In a space where distinctive, ownable brands are rare, we helped Tutor establish an identity and visual language that feels as intelligent as the technology behind it, and far more human than the category around it, one the team can carry from the lab to the line.
