DelightX
DeNA
MISSION
Helping Japanese founders cross into the Silicon Valley ecosystem and build world-class companies.
the challenge
Startup programs are a visually stagnant category. DelightX risked being read as just another program, or a short immersion trip, rather than a serious commitment for founders ready to build globally.

the opportunity
DelightX exists at the crossing point between Japan and Silicon Valley, founder and ecosystem, courage and opportunity. The ‘X’ in the name was never decoration. It was the idea of crossing, waiting to be made visible.

THE APPROACH
Before the logo, we designed the voice. Everything else grew from the ‘X.’ A custom typeface, two marks, and a system that stays expressive without turning chaotic.
In just two weeks, we designed DelightX Sans, a fully custom brand font of 164 glyphs. It gives DelightX an ownable typographic foundation, not just a logo.
A SCALABLE SYSTEM
Two marks, two roles: X for recognition, DX as a badge of membership for the community.
This system allows the brand to be expressive
without becoming chaotic.

The photography makes Silicon Valley feel real, not distant. Never too corporate, never too casual, it helps Japanese founders see people like themselves already building in San Francisco.

From social to signage, the pattern grows straight from the X. Structured enough to stay recognizable, flexible enough to carry the brand anywhere.
The stunning color system comes from time. Twelve colors, twelve moments of light, a day passing over the Golden Gate Bridge. Dawn to dusk, the palette gives the brand a natural rhythm no static color system could.
“They gave us new perspectives and drew out what we couldn’t yet articulate, building the trust to give them freedom to challenge our thinking while staying close to what mattered to us.”
Zypsy exists in support of early stage startup founders.
DelightX started as a program. The brand turns it into a movement. The X is the crossing point between Japan and Silicon Valley, founder and ecosystem, idea and company, and every part of the identity makes that crossing visible for founders ready to build globally.
